Forged Copper Alloys
Alloy production is a complex task that requires precise control of a variety of complex variables.
We have a deep metallurgical understanding of these complex processes.
Forged alloys are cast at foundry, using our special vertical continuous casting process, or cast into heavy forged ingots.
Forged ingots are cast using our stationary casting system, which is specifically designed to fill the ingots with non-turbulent flow to avoid the formation of harmful metal oxide films and inclusions.
Controlled solidification to ensure good macro organization, no secondary shrinkage, and sufficient ingot top waste to completely remove the primary tube resulting from the feed solidification shrinkage.
The cast product is transformed into the forged product.
The conversion of cast products to forged products requires controlled preheating to high temperatures, where the material can be thermoformed using a variety of processes.
These include press, hammer and rotary forging, strip and bar rolling, extrusion and closed die forging and ring rolling. Final products include bars(round, flat, square), stepped shafts, boss forgings, rings, blocks and closed-die shapes for complex shapes.
Forged products have higher sturdiness and integrity than cast products, and have higher mechanical strength and resilence.
Identify problems in an industrial environment
We don't compromise on material quality or performance.
Customers are often unable to find copper alloys within existing material specifications that perform as expected for their components or industry.
That means they have to make compromises. But compromising on the choice of metal alloys means choosing a platform gold that doesn't actually fit the bill perfectly.
The final output is no longer applicable due to weak key attributes. This can have a long-term impact on the product or service, which is not debatable.
ALB solves industry problems
ALB Company is good at making metals with the best combination of properties. With our in-depth metallurgical knowledge and proficiency in controlling melting, casting and processing. We are able to control mechanical and physical properties to meet the needs of special applications.
We understand application challenges and use our metallurgical expertise to create custom solutions. Our approach is as follows:
1). Ingredient control in our own modern melting operations. We can manipulate and determine the composition of the alloy to achieve specific results.
2). Control the casting and solidification of alloys to improve their structure and integrity.
3). Improve structure and performance through hot forming and warm forming operations, such as forging, extrusion and rolling.
4). Heat treatment allows further control of mechanical and physical properties and structures.
