introduction
Beryllium copper alloys containing beryllium 3.8~4.1% are called beryllium copper intermediate alloys, also known as beryllium copper master alloys. After diluting it and adding a small amount of other components, beryllium bronze products containing beryllium 1.8~2% (beryllium copper plate, strip, rod, wire) are prepared.
Beryllium bronze has excellent age hardening effect. After high temperature quenching, it has extremely high plasticity and is easy to cold work and form elastic elements with complex shapes, and then age treatment. It can give these components with high strength, elasticity and considerable fatigue limit and small elastic hysteresis performance. At the same time, it also has good electrical conductivity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and no spark and no magnetic permeability during impact.
Application
Master Beryllium Copper (CuBe) alloys are a class of materials that are made by adding a small amount of beryllium (typically 4%) to aluminum. These alloys are known for their high strength, stiffness, and high-temperature stability. They are used in a variety of applications where these properties are desirable, such as in the aerospace and defense industries.
Master Beryllium Copper are typically made by melting aluminum and beryllium together and casting the molten material into ingots or other desired shapes. The resulting ingots can then be further processed through methods such as hot or cold rolling, extrusion, or forging to create the final parts or products.
Copper beryllium (CuBe) alloys offer a unique combination of strength, conductivity, hardness and corrosion resistance and are non-magnetic and spark resistant.
